What is Bikers for Christ? - Bikers for Christ (BFC) is a motorcycle ministry, not a club, where members ride their bikes and participate in activities that put them in places where God can use them to minister and witness.  For more details, go to the "Who We Are" page.  More information about Bikers for Christ, International can be found at  www.bikersforchrist.org.
 
How does BFC relate to other Christian motorcycle groups? - BFC is not in competition with any other motorcycle club, gang, or ministry.  We don't try to draw people away from other worthwhile ministries and activities.  Instead, we try to support and augment those activities.  We pray with them, go riding with them, and help them with their events.  Some of the members of the Capital City Chapter are also members of various other motorcycle ministries, such as "His Laboring Few" and "Christian Motorcycle Association".  Many of our members are also members of secular motorcycle organizations.  For example, our State Elder is a member of H.O.G., NC CBA/ABATE, NC Retreads, and MRF. 
 
How does the Capital City Chapter conduct ministry? - The ministry of Capital City Chapter members is both individual and group.  BFC does not dictate how members should minister; that's between the individual and God and depends on the individual's talents, gifts, and calling.  Some members pass out tracts, others witness one-on-one.  Other members hang out at places where bikers congregate - bars, swap  meets, biker fests, rock concerts - and wait for an opportunity to witness.  Some members just ride around wearing their colors and let God bring them in contact with those in need.  As a group, the Capital City Chapter often travels to bike meets and other activities where there might be an opportunity to witness.  We participate in Christmas and holiday parades to get the message of Bethlehem to a secular world.  We go to orphanages and give rides on our bikes to the children (and sometimes, the staff) and participate in their worship services.  We also go to churches to tell them about our ministry and seek their prayer support.
 
Who's in charge? - GOD!  BFC has no president, vice president, CEO, or board of directors.  Such titles can lead to pride.  Like all BFC chapters, the Capital City Chapter has an elder who handles administrative duties and ministers to the members.
 
Where can I get a copy of the BFC operating procedures? - You can't, because there aren't any.  BFC has no by-laws.  Our guidance comes from God's Word, but like every BFC chapter, the Capital City Chapter makes itself accountable to a local sponsoring church.

How much does it cost to belong to BFC? - Membership is "free"  there are no annual dues.  The Capital City Chapter relies on free-will donations from members to cover incidental expenses.
 
How do I get a patch? - You first have to be a member in good standing.  Click on the "Becoming A Member" page to find out how.  Once you become a member of BFC, you can order patches, shirts, hats, and other BFC stuff from BFC International.
 
How do I become a member? - If you feel God leading you to be a part of the BFC ministry, contact the Capital City Chapter Elder (click on the "Contact Us" page) for an application form.  You will have to answer a few written questions on the form and your pastor will have to sign off on it for you.  The Chapter Elder will be contacting your pastor to verify.  Pray about it first, and read the scriptures and conditions of membership on the back of the application form.  There's no "prospect" process, but we want you to understand the seriousness of the commitment involved in being a BFC member.
 
How does BFC deal with members who go astray? - We believe that the Holy Spirit will keep members in line.  If He can't, neither can we.  If a member is discovered to be in open rebellion against God, the Capital City Chapter expects that he/she will be honest with themselves and God by turning their patch into the Chapter Elder who will hold on to it until the member gets things straightened out.  We don't go on witch hunts and we don't judge or condemn others (Luke 6).  We also don't threaten members or forcibly remove their colors.
 
Do members have to ride Harleys? - No.  We firmly support each member's freedom to ride whatever type of motorcycle they want to ride.  Mopeds, motor-scooters, motorized bicycles, and non-street legal dirt bikes are NOT motorcycles for the purpose of BFC membership.
